Private camera
The short answer
Silock has its own camera. A photo you take with it goes straight into the open silo, encrypted, and never reaches your camera roll, so there's no original to remember to delete.
Moving a photo into a vault after you take it leaves a trail: the original sits in your camera roll, then in Recently Deleted, and possibly in iCloud Photos on your other devices, until you remember to clean it all up.
Silock’s camera skips that. The photo is taken inside the silo.
How to use it
- Unlock Silock and open a silo.
- Tap the camera button.
- Take your photos. A confirmation in the middle of the screen shows each one was added.
What happens to the photo
- It goes from the camera straight into the silo, encrypted. It’s never saved unencrypted, not even for a moment.
- It never appears in Photos, the camera roll or iCloud Photos.
- It isn’t tagged with your location.
Photos only, for now
Recording video would mean writing an unencrypted movie file to your iPhone first, and Silock doesn’t do that. Until video can be captured safely, record with the Camera app and add the video to a silo from Photos.
